Imperial garrisons are prefabricated bases deployed by Star Destroyers during the height of the planetary invasions. They are fully functional and self-sufficient to support ground troops that are essential in bringing Imperial occupation to non-compliant systems. Such base in Mos Eisley retains authority over the local population and serves as a listening post for any rebel activities against the Empire.
